Comprehensive Learning for Perinatal Behavioral Health

KCC’s offers a wide selection of training opportunities to equip Kansas professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to identify and address perinatal behavioral health conditions. Every training is developed in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of experts and is tailored to the needs of Kansas professionals. From live webinars to on-demand learning, we offer an option to fit any schedule. We currently offer up to 6 free CME/CEs annually for professionals that sign up with the Mental Health Consultation and Resource Network and participate in the Kansas Moms in Mind (KMIM) training sessions, with plans to expand CME/CE availability to other training webinars in 2025.

Scholarships

Training scholarships are available for health and other care professionals seeking to deepen their expertise in perinatal behavioral health. Some courses covered by training scholarships provide CME/CE credits.

Monthly Virtual Training

KCC offers twelve virtual learning sessions annually. Each session is led by perinatal psychiatry experts and behavioral health specialists. Topics cover a range of critical issues in pregnancy and postpartum, including:

  • Psychiatric medication management in the perinatal population
  • Deep dives into diagnosis and treatment for common perinatal behavioral health conditions
  • Perinatal mental health and substance use screening and intervention

Customized Training Needs

KCC can provide customized free training for your clinic, department, or program, by request. Training may be virtual and in-person, within the state of Kansas. Topics may include:​

  • The basics of perinatal mental health conditions (prevalence, risk factors, symptoms, and access to treatment)
  • Best practices for screening, brief intervention, and referrals
  • Perinatal psychopharmacology
  • Diagnosis and treatment planning best practices for physicians and clinicians
  • KanCare billing and reimbursement
  • Perinatal substance use identification and intervention
