The Bureau of Family Health (BFH) Family Advisory Council (FAC) is made up of family members and consumers who are interested in helping drive positive changes to maternal and child health services and inform programs for women, children, and families. So, what does this mean? It means that we are looking for dedicated family members or consumers across the state to tell us what it is like to live in their community and access services. We want to hear your opinions, ideas, experiences, and stories.
Our goal is to assure the needs of families and consumers are central to programming, initiatives, and special projects. In other words, making sure the needs of families are first and foremost in our minds in all we do. That's why we created this Council. We want to...

The FAC is made up of several different work groups that focus on specific areas and programming for the Bureau of Family Health.
Members of our council are valuable partners in our work and we are so proud to have these family and consumer leaders by our side as we try to make life better for all women, children, and families in Kansans.
The full FAC meets quarterly, alternating virtual meetings and in-person. The 2023 Schedule is as follows:

Our request?
We need more families with experience with our programs to share with us the great things they are doing, the things that didn’t work for them so well, and the things they would love to see added to state funded programs.
